ESET's NOD32 pretty much hands-down is one of the most effective AV products on the market which uses next to no system resources (only uses ~20MB of memory).
As for a low resource Personal Firewall, something like ZoneAlarm's free version of its firewall is fairly small in resource usage compared to other firewalls. |

i'll stick with eset nod32 for AV, but for a firewall, is there any alternative to Zonealarm? I've used Zonealarm and i don't really like it
btw do firewalls slowdown internet connections?
