Avast

Well ive been trying to download DivX codec
but when it gets to 94% my laptop slows down and tells me about a corrupt file and then says it carrying on downloading but the % stays the same but does not carry on

i can download it again and it finshes. but if i try to run the .exe file and says it got missing files

anyone know whats wrong with it

other information if your asking :
Ive got Windows XP ive tired downloading diffrent versions of Divx codec and it still says it a virus

First off, make sure you are downloading the DivX Codec from the official DivX website:

http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/codec/

Are you using a download manager or accelerator? It may be corrupting the file. Try using an alternate download program, or abstain from using the program altogether for the download.

Well am saving on onto my desktop so i can move it about onto my friends laptop who has no idea what she is doing on it but that should not make a diffrence if am just downloading it which saves into tempery internet files or saving it onto my desktop should it?
