help securing my wireless network
![]() Sorry, I am computer retarded. I didn't bother securing my wireless network during setup and now I can't figure out how to get it done. The reason I'm doing this is that my connection is sometimes so slow I can't take it, and I'm guessing/hoping it is because someone is using my network. I have comcast internet and a netgear router, dv-1280-3, and only have the one laptop. And yes, I do realize this is making you cringe!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.....and any tips to speed up my connection also

Re: help securing my wireless network
Ok I have found a few screen shots from the internet, but it is not exactly your model ...
For what I see you can: - View who is connected by going to page "Attached Devices" With this you will be able to know if someone else is connected and is slowing you down - The configuration page for WLAN security is under "Wireless settings" (scroll down on the side menu to find it) This will allow to setup some security on your network. Watch out not to look yourself out! :) |
