Stealing download

It seems that since we have had students move in next door our downlimit is reached within 2 day's instead of a month. Trend picks up 2 laptops and has them on Do NOT Trust and has them added to the firewall, but is there software available that can show me if a wireless machine is feeding of my router. I have a linksys router and have all firewalls to max.

Re: Stealing download

Firstly put encryption on your router and set it up on YOUR PCs you want to connect.

You could also use MAC address filtering which only allows machines to connect that you have entered their unique code into your router.

Re: Stealing download

If you use WPA encryption with a strong key (random letters/numbers 20 char long), you'll eliminate any possibility of leechers.
