[SOLVED] quick symantic firewall question

I have symantic virus and firewall clients installed on all my 3 or 4 machines in my home network.
This is on top of the hardware firewall from the wireless router that they all get there IP's from. The router, in turn, is connected to the dSL modem.

My question is, I cant seem to figure out how to get symanitc to allow free communication from PC to PC. It seems there is no "behind the firewall" free access because each PC has its own firewall.

My 2 laptops travel with me and my wife and I need the firewall software on them as we do attach to unsecured networks from time to time and use a travel "cell" modem for getting internet while on the road.

Any advise on how to tell norton which computers are mine and "OK" so let traffic through? I cant even share folders with out completely disabing the firewall on each machine. At that point though, with the fire walls OFF, i can do networking without a problem.

thanks all

Chris

Try going into the firewall settings, there shoud be an option to set up trused and restriced zones, set up a trused zone, you will then have t option to add individual IP addresses or an IP range. Add the IP addresses and Subnet masks of the trusted PC's. If your IP addresses are assigned by your router using DHCP then it would be better to add an IP range.
