Post Windows Troubleshoot

my computer is slowing down and memory space is decreasing by itself.I detected that spyware is causing this problem.Please tell how to get rid of these spyware and getting my computer restored to its original state in a simple and short expenseless way,because my computer is working very very slowly and hangs by itelf many times.My current web browser is opera 9.21
and windows is XP.

I already followed the first 3 steps,but after downloading the service station 1 ,i found that i already had service pack 2 installed.Please tell me now how to continue with the process.

when you have gone through the steps post your hijack log in the hijack log help forum and wait for them to give you instructions
you put hijack into it's own folder
run it
then copy and paste the resultant log into the reply box

To get rid of spyware, you want to run some antispy scans. ATT yahoo has a free one. There are a lot of them out there. Also if your pc is running slow, you may want to check it for winsock (registry) issues. To do this: Click start, run, msinfo32, +components,+network, click on protocol. Another screen opens on the other side. The first item should say name. If the item out beside it doesn' t say msafd tcp/ip, this is a problem. To clear it, go to start, run type netsh winsock reset. Then reboot your pc. You may also want to disable startups in windows. To do this: Start, run, msconfig. startup tab, disable all, apply and close. Reboot pc. Hope this helps.
