Help, virus on my pc

ive got a virus - i think on my pc and cant seem to get rid of it. I had an email from american greetings cards with an e-card, clicked on the link and nothing happened so thought nothing of it and deleted the email.

Now, every time laptop is on, i get a box come up (i have mcafee security) that tells me that program 9129837.exe reqeuests access to the internet. If i block the access then it goes away and 30 secs later i get a message come up saying your system has an error and needs to close, this closedown was authorised by NT Authority.

When the box comes up, if i dont click on grant or block access, it just sits on my screen until I do something with it.

I've scanned and updated and scanned and updated my security which i do every 2 days anyway. All my windows security is up to date too and am now completely stuffed.

Any clues and help please?
