How do? I recently started a new job with a large company in the networking dept. I have been assigned the task of setting up a honey pot type network to assess the risks to the org. I have full ussage of a room filled with Proliant servers, disk arrays, firewalls, hubs, workstations and some things that I don't even know what they are.
My problem is that this is a little over my head in that I have only done Network Theory in college and it's a different ball game all together when things are for real... I would like to get some suggestions from you guys on how best I should tackle this and maybe if anyone out there has useful links to websites/tutorials/videos about organisational networking etc..? Thanks! P.S What are the legal implications for setting up honey pots in europe? What is the best honeypot monitering software out there? Last edited by Energizeer; 06-15-2007 at 04:18 AM. Re: Honeypot Network?
I don't know much about Honeypots but I found this which may be helpful:
http://www.spitzner.net/honeypot.html Basically, you are building a system that can be compromised by hackers but you learn their methods by using tracking software. Last edited by verdrm; 07-07-2007 at 08:57 AM. |
