I'm not sure if I am in the right forum or if this sight even covers my problem but, it seems like ever since I downloaded and install all the free protection software from aol that I cannot log into Aim Pro messenger. I hit sign in and then it says "validating" and comes up after about 15 seconds and says "unknown error". I've been all over ask Jeeves, typed in my dilemma 50 different ways and still get the same thing which none of is helpful. There is no where to go for troubleshooting this problem and I am clueless. I thought that maybe perhaps the McAfee firewall thru aol software may be the culprit. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts and or ideas...by the way...already uninstalled and re-installed, ran virus check and regclean etc., etc., etc. Somebody please help and let me know if these issues are allowed in this forum or not
....I apologize in advance if I posted something I shouldn't have and say TY in advance for any advice and or help ...Mako1966

Re: Firewall troubles???
You said the magic word, "AOL". If it's possible, I'd do a system restore to before you installed the AOL trash.
