How do I get rid of the virus 'Downloader?'
Hi,
I recently took over the maintenance of our charities website (may be picking the brains of others as I go along?!). This is when I first saw this Downloader virus alert come to my attention, and when running a recent scan using Norton 360, it again picked up the virus but couldn't get rid of it. I have noticed a few things happening to my computer of late, such as funny blocks of colour appearing on the start up and desktop screens etc, and wondered if I had a virus. I'm not sure what 'Downloader' does to the computer, but doesn't sound good cos I believe it's a Trojan?? Any help would be great. Thanks Abbo

Re: How do I get rid of the virus 'Downloader?'
It sounds to me like there is something not right with your system, start by reading (Updated!) IMPORTANT - Read This Before Posting A Log and posting a HijackThis log here
The problem with norton is that it can find viruses but it is not very good at getting rid of them. My advice would be to get rid of it and install an alternative AV
