Re: anti virus
Not sure if you're looking for a fix for your problem, or an alternative. Because I've never before heard of your AV, I'd recommend uninstalling and trying AVG or Avast. Both are free and, to my knowledge, work well and never cause the sort of issue you're experiencing.

Re: anti virus
Greetings from "The Land Down Under" Donstoy, Welcome to TSF!
![]() My reseach tells me that the "Yahoo Anti-Virus" program, is a Norton® product. Norton® products are notorious for being "Resource Hogs". 'qbawl' has given you some good advice about freeware AV programs too. I personally use AVG™ from Grisoft®; however, I would suggest that you go to this site, where a number of Av programs have been compared with one another. Post back with your thoughts please. Kind Regards,

Re: anti virus
I was using Zone Alarm Security Suite, but the license ended. I am now using AVG AntiVirus/Antispyware as my main AntiVirus/AntiSpyware tools. I also use AOL AVS with the real time monitor turned off and AntiVir with the resident virus gaurd turned off as on demand antivirus scans to compliment and layer my security. I also use comodo as my firewall. Couple these with Windows defender, trojun hunter, and blacklight I think you are probably pretty safe. They are all free.
Just my 2 cents. Rick |
