Blocking a LAN
I have a Netgear G834GT and I have wored it so that the 4 LAN connections are connected to Xboxes.
The guys that have the XBoxes also have laptops. I want to restrict access to the internet for them but allow me to access with no problems. gateway is 192.168.0.1 i have set up a firewall rule blocking 192.168.0.5 - 255 on all ports from 0 - 65500. That leaves 4 ports for me, my xbox and a friend. It seems a bit messy to me. What is the range of ports? In theory, they could access the internet on a port after 65000, or by setting a static IP in the 192.168.1-255.0-255 ranges. How can I block them? can I do a blanket ban on all IPs and just set some exceptions for me? Thanks! |

I think configuring the firewall is going to cause more problems for you. Try using the MAC Filter and filter out the MAC addresses.
