Need Proxy Server Or Program Advice...

Hey,

I've recently almost had my computer Hi-jacked by an anonymous program.
Luckily i managed to disable this Hi-Jackers evil program and remove it from my computer.

After this close encounter with losing my computer i decided i should be more wary about my online activities and protect my IP Address.

A friend from school reccomended a proxy server.
So I typed in " Proxy Servers " on google, i got one but it was junk and failed to connect to any web pages.

So now I need to know if there are any highly-reccomended proxy servers programs or IP's out there that anyone can tell me about

Please note, I live in the UK, so a worldwide, or UK proxy server/program would be nice

Also, I would prefer it if the program (if suggested) is free as I dont own a credit card to order it online and my parents won't let me order anything online :(

I see no reason to run a proxy in this case. You just need to be more aware of what you are executing on your computer.

Connecting through a proxy will not protect your computer from being hijacked from malware - it only adds a layer of anonymity.
