Dynamode R-ADSL-C4 Problem
I recently decided that as the modem supplied by AOL (BT Voyager 105) was somewhat crap and kept locking up and knocking me off the internet - so i bought the Dynamode R-ADSL-C4 Router, the networking side of it worked fine, just plugged the network cables into it and i could access the files on both my PC and the other PC.
The problem is with the ADSL modem thats built into the router - i can connect sometimes, but when i do there are NAT Problems and MSN Messenger constantly returns the error that the "service is busy" when i try and sign in - ive been trying for the past two days now to figure out why without much luck, im wondering if it is the setting im using for connecting to the AOL but when i asked the AOL customer service people, they just told me that they couldnt help me as the AOL silver Broadband package does not support networking. I did contact Dynamode customer service who blamed it on AOL and basically said they had no idea why it goes wrong, or how to fix it. Anyhelp on this matter would be much appriciated. |

I could suggesting getting a real ISP instead of AOL.
It's difficult to troubleshoot problems like this in ASCII, since both sides point fingers at the other. The reason I advise everyone to steer clear of AOL is they have this attitude.

Yeah, belive me as soon as i can leave them i will do, but i really don't feel like buying out the rest of the contract i have with them as well as paying for a new ISP.
Thankfully the People at dynamode seem to be more helpful than i first thought so maybe a chance of getting it working yet! |

Re: Dynamode R-ADSL-C4 Problem
I got that router to, i found that there is a patch for that router but you need windows 98 to patch it, Thats what Dynamode told me anyway. I can send it to them to patch it for me.
Setting ports and setting up static IPs helped me a lot but still get probs mainly with ea games If you want to forward ports > http://portforward.com/routers.htm |
