Cry Slow web page loading on workstations, but not on the server.

Hello,
I have just replaced my old Linksys router with a newer one. I have basically copied all the IP info from the old router to the new one, but I still have problems. I have a T1 line connected to the "internet" port of the router and a netnear switch to port 1. Also, 2 work stations and a printer are connected to ports 2 through 4. My work stations (all XP) are able to log on to the server (wins 2003) and do their work as usual, but none of them have fast internet access. It takes about 1 minute to load a page. However, on the server, it only takes about 5 seconds. What could be causing the work stations to have slow internet access but not the server. Every one used to have fast internet access with the old router. Please help.

I'm guessing the server is connected to the switch? Have you tried connecting the 2 workstations and the printer to the switch also?

No, there's no more room on the switch. Besides, the old router was used in the same way. Thanks

What is the model of the router? Is it the same model as your old one? Did you alter your MTU size on your old router, but forget to change it on the new one? On both workstations, go to your network card in the Device Manager, and change the Connection Type from "Auto-negotiation" to "100BaseT(x) Full Duplex" or vice-versa.

It's also possible that the problem could be the router. If you just bought it, then you should be able to return it in exchange for a new one.

The MTV on the old router is disabled. On the new one, is set at 1200. There isn't a disable feature on the new one. Please help by contacting dankaren1995@yahoo.com. thanks.

I said MTU, and I doubt it would be set to 1200 unless someone fiddled with it. Set it to 1500 and see if it makes a difference.

Slow web page loading - still unsolved.

Even if the MTU is set at Auto or 1200, it's still slow. Could it be the DNS on my server? If so, it wouldn't make any sense because I never touched it.
Thanks.

Re: Slow web page loading on workstations, but not on the server.

I have a client that is experiencing this exact same problem. but they don't have a router between the server and the cable modem.
