Router problem

ive had problems with my internet connection since i got my new wireless router + modem (well i had trouble with my old one but nvm). I asked in the froum below, and although they helped alot, the problem still remains and i think it could be something to do with the protocols or proxys.

i was mucking about with UpUn or sumthin and got a new icon on my network connections. It says internet gateway then something bout Linux. msn messenger than connected for a little while, then got disconnected, but IE or Firefox still wouldnt load up a page. any ideas what is going on??

i still cant get this to work. i tried setting up a proxy and it started loading up google (instead of 1.0.0.0) but it still said server cannot be found.
