Router getting in way of Games
Hi,
I've got a two computer wired network, going through a a Belkin (d5f5231 uk4) router, which is what my internet connection is attached to. Now I have no problems surfing the web downloading files etc, but when I try to connect to an online game such as BF2 or counterstrike my connection to the server iss lost as soon as I get in or after a minute, it never lets me stay on more then 1 minute. I connected my internet connection directly to my pc and bypassed the router and the problem dissapeared. So I know it's something to do with the router but don't know what, I've tried forwarding the ports they suggested for the games, Turning off all my firewalls, placing my computer in the DMZ, upgrading the routers Firmware. None of this has worked so far the only way i can play my games is to kick my Flat mate of the Internet. Please help! Thank you! |

hmmm.. i also had this problem but i was playing on my ps2 on a wireless gaming adapter.. what i did to solve the problem is to set my ip and dns to manual instead of having DHCP assign them one. After i did this and allowed DMZ to that ip address i had no problems.
After you enabled the DMZ for your ip did you power down the router for a minute and a half afterwards? |
