1.netgear adsl modem router,dg834g v 2.20, connected to my adsl phone line
2.dell pc with xp sp2, connected to port 1 on router via nic card in pc
3.2 other pc,s connected to router via wirless cards in both m/c,using wep
4.my dell has access to both pc,s and vice versa for file sharing,and internet.

now my problem,
while i work away i wish to accsess my dell usb web cam but can never log in
i dont know how to set up (port forwading)i think thats what it is called,also how to set up my router to allow me accsess,to my dell hard drive so i can map it,and read files from anywhere in the world,also every time my router is powerd down be it a power cut,of my wife pluging the cleaner in to clean my office,it comes back with a differnt ip address.
how do i set the router to stop this from happening,i have loged in to my router from away,but that is no use to me its just the internal settings for my router,can somebody help me please. andy

First you need to fix the problem about your ever changing route to your hoem computer....either get a static IP address...boo more $$$ or go and sign up for Dynamic DNS , which would allow you to type in say...bobbigbox.dyndns.org and you would connect to your current ip address at home...of course you need to download there client software that keeps your ip/dns info updated in real time...or whatever settings you set...

service to run remote connections.

i want go into alot of detail about remote connectivity but, it should be easy since, your running xp. RDC (remote desktop connection) i would recommend creating a new account just for the purpose of remote connectivity.

Now the web cam, not sure atm. You sould be able to veiw the cam through your home desktop /w RDC. not sure though....

let me know
