Annoying Router / NAT / Ports problem !

Hello, I wasn't sure where to create this thread so I started it here, I apologize if this is the wrong place.

I own a Edimax Router, and I work with several applications that require port forwarding. I forwarded the ports I needed and all worked fine for a long time. About a week ago the programs started acting as if the ports were blocked. I checked a number of times and the correct ports were still forwarded yet the programs still acted as if they are blocked.

I changed the ports a number of times to see if my ISP blocked some ports but none worked. I don't believe the problem is in the router since other computers on the home network work fine (with open ports).
The problem is not my internal IP, I checked and it is the correct one. I also do not have any software firewalls that could cause this.

What could be causing this? thanks in advance.

I should also mention that it started at about the time I discovered and deleted a few viruses from my PC so it might have something to do with it.

The router isn't going to affect anyone from accessing it inside the network so it could just be the router is having difficulties on the WAN side. Hardware does go bad. You really need to test it from outside the network.

Have you checked for any Spyware or Adware.
