trying to hook up dsl router
hello, heres my problem. i have a sbc dsl 2 wire, i am trying to hook up my old compaq presaio 5240, with windows 98 on it. the new computer has windows xp.. is it possible to make this work.. i am using the ethernet cables on both units.. please help or let me know if i am wasting my time..the back of the presario has a network connection which i am plugged into.its suppose to have the ethernet connection built in..i am using aol.

Well, clearly it's possible to network the W98 computer, so there's no reason it shouldn't work. Basically, you need to configure the TCP/IP under network properties to automatically obtain the IP and DNS addresses.
