DHCP Failures in Linksys WRT51AB
We have a WRT51AB wireless router, and lately its started to have DHCP failures. It's routing from a specialized broadband modem, configured with static, real settings on the WAN side. It provides DHCP on the LAN side for addresses 10.10.10.100 - 10.10.10.150. Every once in a while, it just stops providing DHCP and people can't connect after their lease expires, or someone else will end up with a duplicate IP address and won't be able to re-DHCP until the router is rebooted.
After a reboot, it seems to work (for a while) -- people can release and renew their "automatic" workstation IP settings without a problem. Then sometime later (hours, days) it'll have trouble again. For those who still have an IP and for static addresses, it still routes and NATs and all those good things. Only the DHCP seems to be a problem. It has ancient (2002 vintage) firmware and no upgrades are available. Any ideas would be appreciated. Let me know if you need more info. - The Inspector |

This seems real simple, new router.

If you shop around, some great deals are available on broadband routers, this doesn't need to break the bank. Here's an 802.11g router for $23.99 after rebate from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...nnorswebguidec
