Media Disconnected
I have such problem right now. My WiFi works fine all the time but yday my sister use i think infected flash card. So now i got all my network devices not worked on my laptop with XP. On 2nd laptop still all working without any problems. Read lots of info about that and have no success.
----------------------- >ipconfig Ethernet adapter Local Area .... Media state .................: Media disconnected Ethernet adapter Wireless Network ... Media state .................: Media disconnected >ipconfig /release No operation can be perfomed on Local Area Connection while its media disconnected (same for Wireless) ----------------------------- What i did: 1) Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog Both give me no result. 2) Making all with drivers: uninstall/install and all with connections: enable/disable/repair. Changed 100 times all settings Still have no success :(((( |

Re: Media Disconnected
Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.
I've created a new thread for your issue here. Note: You will need to post complete details of your configuration and your specific issue in this new thread for us to help you. Thanks for your cooperation.

Re: Media Disconnected
Have you first done malware/spyware scans to insure you're free of the infection? Have you tried system restore to before the problem occurred?

Re: Media Disconnected
Sure 1st i did - check for viruses. Find some. Im using kaspersky. Tryed system restore for long period. but it say me all time - you have no changes.
Spend full day to fix this, read tons info. but have no solution yet. This http://support.microsoft.com/kb/239924 make 'media disconnected' dissapear but not solve network problems. i cant see any WiFi networks. But on other laptop i got 2 networks in range Seems need to reinstall my XP. it will take less time than fixing |
