Re: Port Fowarding trouble with DI-604
What a coincidence, I'm using the exactly same router for the exact same purpose...
Please advise, I tried to setup a static IP, but I'm not sure what my DNS is, I looked on the status page and the address looked weird... but just to give you an idea.. it said DNS 208.77.0.11 207.200.7.21 64.59.135.143 I don't have enuf space to post all those @_@ So I figured that its just poor formatting, it could be three address just clumped together so I tried entering 208.77.0.11 207.200.7.2 64.59.135.143 When I tried to setup virtual server with the informations in ipconfig, everything SEEMS to go down smoothly, but port testing came back to be negative I'll post my IPconfig Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. Re: Port Fowarding trouble with DI-604
Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.
I've created a new thread for your issue here. Note: You will need to post complete details of your configuration and your specific issue in this new thread for us to help you. Thanks for your cooperation.

Re: Port Fowarding trouble with DI-604
Sorry I'm not sure what you mean by complete details....
But my problem is that I can't find the Preferred DNS Alternate DNS That I need to make a working static IP so that I can port forward games, I'm currently using DI-604 router with dynamic IP, I tried using "Simple Static IP" a program that sets up static IP for me, the current configuration for my static IP is as follows IP 192.168.0.137 Subnet 255.255.255.0 Gateway 192.168.0.1 For DNS, there was two options, Use router as DNs and use OpenDNS for DNS... I tried both, now with my "static IP" setup, I setup a test virtual server with the following configuration name : test Private IP: 192.168.0.137 Protocol type: TCP private port: 1234 public port: 1234 schedule: always I applied the settings and tested the port, results came back negative.... |

Re: Port Fowarding trouble with DI-604
Go to Start>Run. Type cmd, then in the command prompt ipconifg/all. The DNS Servers address that comes up is what you need to use in the preferred DNS blank. If there is only one DNS address in the command prompt, you can leave the alternate blank.

Re: Port Fowarding trouble with DI-604
Yes, it's setup like that on many different routers, that the default gateway and DNS are the same. However, you should still be able to enter that same address in both blanks.
