How router identify network type of the neighbor in ospf?
Hi All,
I have configured ospf between two routers with network type as p-p in rtr1 and broadcast in rtr2, obviously the neighbourship will not formed between these two routers. My question is how the router knows what type of network the neighbour belongs to? I don't see any field in the hello packets which describe the network type. So can some one please clarify my question. rtr1----------rtr2 rtr1 ---- router ospf 1 network 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.255 area 0 network point-to-point ! ! rtr2 --- router ospf 1 network 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.255 area 0 network broadcast ! ! Thanks, Viswanath. |
