Requesting help with complicated proxy/tunnel idea
I would like to redirect an Internet Domain or IP address to another computer in my network. I know this can be done very easy with the "HOSTS" file. However, I would like to do it without having to modify the HOSTS file at all, or using any special programs on the main PC (PC1).
Something like a man-in-the-middle attack. I'm trying to fool the PC into using a proxy without the PC knowing. My basic idea was, Connecting PC1 only to PC2. Also connecting PC2 to the internet. When PC1 wants to connect with ex. domain.com, it actually connects with PC2 instead, PC2 then runs the request through a proxy/tunnel. PC1 was connecting through a proxy without knowing. It should be possible for PC1 to be a completely clean windows installation. I have 2 PCs I can use. 1 laptop with 1 Ethernet port and wireless. (Vista) 1 Desktop with 2 Ethernet ports and wireless. (XP/Kubuntu Dual boot) I've tried to straighten out my idea's but I can understand if this all seems a bit unclear. |
