Compression Proxy Server?
Well first off I have dial-up and its uber slow! Lately I have been experimenting with caching proxy servers and compression servers like toonel. I was wondering if it were possible if I could setup a compression proxy on a friends pc, who has broadband internet. It would be also helpful if someone could point me in to the right direction to a program that I could install on this faster connection and compress any traffic whether it be http or even a .rar file, anything basically. Then send it to me in this smaller compression where my pc will uncompress it? Thanks for any help!

Most dialup system already use some level of data compression. Any further compression and you may risk losing data at almost no gain in speed.
