[SOLVED] How to put my PC into wirelless network connected directly to w. gateway

Hello everyone!

I have computer that is connected directly to private port on gateway MW 2000S AirLive, gateway has AP-s connected to ports LAN1 and LAN2 thus providing wirelless network. How can I put my computer into that wirelless network so computers from the network can access it.

Computer address: 192.168.2.6

Gateway: 192.168.2.254
DHCP on gateway is providing clients on wirelless network with adddress range 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.100.

MW is working as NAT.

You may need to log into the gateway to enable wireless.

Re: How to put my PC into wirelless network connected directly to w. gateway

What I want is to enable access from computers that log into my wireless network to my computer which is on private port of that same Gateway / NAT that provides wireless network service.

We have gateway: 1-4 Lan ports, WAN1, WAN2, Private port.

Lan1 and Lan2 are connected with access points which provide WiFi network service and working fine.

WAN1 is connected with modem.

My PC (Ubuntu) is connected to Private port that is administration port for Gateway.

I want to make my PC to be part of Wireless network so I can set up local web server for that wireless network.

I posted this in protocols and routing section because I assume there is a way to route the traffic so my PC is visible to computers in wirelless network.

Re: How to put my PC into wirelless network connected directly to w. gateway

If you told us the exact make/model of all the networking equipment and exactly how they're all wired together, that would be a good start.

I'm guessing the private port is designed to be just that, private. I'd stick a dumb switch in between one of the LAN ports and connect the PC to that one, not the private port.

OvisLink AirLive MW 2000S managment gateway system with 3 access points, AirLive WL-5460AP v2.

I will try to switch it on Lan port and experiment little bit, then il post back results. If I don't get any positive result then I will write down everything in detail so you get the whole picture...

I think the private port is just that, isolated from the other ports.

Well, I suspect that any configuration for that private port would have to be done inside the Gateway device.
