my pc is stuck on an ip address and it will not release it. how can i get it to work?

Who is giving your PC an IP address: Home router? DHCP Server? Or something else???
We need more information...

It may work to assign a static IP, then revert back to DHCP.

Open up a command prompt (Start > run > cmd)
Type the following bolded commands and post the results for each affected machine.

ipconfig /all
