CISCO 1801 - Lost user

Ok, we just got a nice new CISCO 1801 router. I was using the disk to load SDM but it appeared to be hanging. SO I logged directly onto the box using the generic cisco user and password to check what was on the flash. I thought I had then entered the command to create a new username and password. But is doesn't appear to have worked and I now can't access the router at all!!

Is it possibel to get it back to default settings or to force a new username / password?

I don't mind completely resetting the box as I have doen nothing else with it, if I only knew how to!!

Did you contact Cisco? That would be my first stop.
