Can i route to 2 different computers using one router
I have a 2005 desktop pc and a brand new 2009 acer laptop, with the newest wireless-n technology. also, i have a 2000 pc and i have a psp also. i want to route to all of those, and i can't decide which type of router to get. a wireless-g, or a wireless-n router? and why for which one? give me a good suggestion, one thats preferably at office max or best buy under $80.
thanks!

Re: Can i route to 2 different computers using one router
Get a wireless N router so that you can use it with your new laptop. You can configure it to run in a mixed mode where you can use wireless G devices in addition to wireless N devices.
Although i think a PSP has a wireless B card in it so you'll have to find a router that can use all three at the same time.

Re: Can i route to 2 different computers using one router
Yes, and you need to make sure that it can operate in all three modes simultaneously wireless b/g/n. If there isn't one then just get a normal wireless G router.
The documentation will explain how to do configuration. If you still have trouble post back and we can help.

Re: Can i route to 2 different computers using one router
Why the hell is there a poll here?
who is better? lebron james kobe bryant Waste of time. As for the question, any router will work fine. If you need wireless, get a wireless one. For what you need, any router will do. As for routing, your not routing ... your switching ... if your talking on the internet, your routing. Last edited by bilbus; 05-21-2009 at 02:34 PM. |

The poll doesn't fit here.

Re: Can i route to 2 different computers using one router
I don't know how I would view it, but from my local newspaper, it said Lebron James has surpassed Kobe Bryant as the NBA's best player.

Re: Can i route to 2 different computers using one router
Have you logged into the router to make sure the wireless is still set to broadcast?

Re: Can i route to 2 different computers using one router
Can no devices see the wireless network? Your PC is wired right? As already stated check to make sure that the SSID is set to broadcast and that the network is indeed on.

Re: Can i route to 2 different computers using one router
both devices can see the router, but neither can see each other. i am guessing it has something to do with the opposing vista/xp o.s. but i really don't know. the ssid is broadcasted and the internet connection is working.

Re: Can i route to 2 different computers using one router
Well i do believe that you are familiar with a certain guide on how to get Vista and XP to see each other over the network.
