Help With Router & PS3
I hope I'm posting this in the right place. It's regarding my router and my PS3, but since the router seems to be the issue, I thought this was the place for it.
Since December I have been using my wireless router (Belkin, Wireless G) to connect my notebook and my PS3 to the internet. Both have worked fine until last week. My notebook still works, but now my PS3 only half works. My PS3 says the signal is at 100%. It still lets me sign on, play online and chat with friends. However, it will not let me open the PS Store for some reason. It had let me before, but it just stopped letting me open it last week. Like I said, it lets me connect online just won't open the store. I called Sony support and they said it seemed like it was a problem with my router, she had never heard of such an issue. I unhooked my router and connected my cable modem to the back of my PS3 using the ethernet cord. Then it worked, so the problem must be in my router, yes? Anyone else had this issue? Anyone know what I can do to fix this problem? A few people have said to disable my router's firewall - did that, didn't help. Someone said to disable my security on my router's settings - did that, didn't help - and it's been letting me get into the store with my security on before. |

Re: Help With Router & PS3
Try resetting the router to factory defaults and reconfiguring it. Obviously, something has changed, time to start with a clean slate again.

Re: Help With Router & PS3
I've reset my router about a dozen times. First I still had the security still on. I like having it have some security, so I went through each option of different types of security the router offered - all PS3 listed as supporting. But none of them would let me back into the store. I then turned off all security and still nothing. The strange thing is that when I had been trying to open the PS store, and it wouldn't come up, and I would edit the security settings, the store screen would pop up but not load any of the images, then when I closed it off and tried to reopen it - nothing, back to the same thing of not opening.

Re: Help With Router & PS3
I don't have a clue, since it works connected to the modem, it's obviously the router. The only other thing I can think to try is a firmware upgrade and yet another reset to defaults.
