HTTP / HTTPS Problems

Hi there,
I work in technical support for a telecommunications company, i had a problem today that bafeled me, a client said that they can connect to HTTPS URLs, but not HTTP, now this is the 1st problem i have come across where i don't have the foggiest clue where to start to fix it.

any help would be much apreciated.

Also when i get the chance i will have a quick scan through new threads to in turn help other users on the forums.
