Cisco C3524XL not booting

Hay,

I have a Cisco C3524XL I have just purchased for use in a home lab.

I turned it on, and it worked fine, but when I saved some config and rebooted it, it will not boot.

i have started it in the boot loader menu (hold down the mode button at power up) and tried to delete the config file, but it says permission denied. I have then erased the flash and used xmodem to copy over the IOS, and it booted fine again. But as soon as i saved some config it failed to boot again, so i guess there’s something wrong with the NVRAM.

Does anyone have any suggests? I have a copied below a copy of the output, after the last line, nothing happens, have left it for over an hour now.

If anyone can offer any advice I would really appreciate it.

Re: Cisco C3524XL not booting

I send it in for repair as it could be damaged.

Re: Cisco C3524XL not booting

is your ios larger then the vram? How big is the ios image?

I have seen problems where it wont boot because you loaded the ios via tftp boot.

Re: Cisco C3524XL not booting

size of the IOS is fine, its not bigger than the flash.

ios is saved to the flash, not loaded via TFTP.

As i say, it loads fine without any config saved, or a very minimal config, but as soon as i start to increase it, it wont load on reboot.
