Laugh ics (vista host / xp clients) problem

i have a vista computer that has an ethernet adaptor to the cable modem and a wireless adaptor connected to this 2wire 2701hg wireless hub (router in bridge mode) which has three clients hooking straight to it through ethernet and a laptop connected wirelessly. two of the computers are off and ones not doin' anything right now. but i am getting an error on most sites that says "cannot find remote server" in opera, "dns error" in ie, i really dont have a problem with firefox because for some reason it has a higher timout value, but will resolve when i hit the refresh button and youtube gives me this message that says "We're sorry, this video is currently unavailable". it leads me to beleive its a dns misconfiguration. i use suddenlink in paris texas. how would i go about setting it up for fast domain name resolutions?

sorry the set-up is haggard, i know!

oh yeah i cant ping the host computer but i can google.com

Re: ics (vista host / xp clients) problem

Why in the world wouldn't you simply buy an inexpensive wireless router and dispense with this kludge? Surely, someone that has four computers can squeeze out $20-$25 to solve this issue the proper way!

newegg.com offers the D-Link WBR-1310 802.11g Wireless-G 4-Port Broadband Router for $19.99 with free shipping

Buy.com offers the CP Technologies N_Max WBR-6001 802.11n Wireless Router for $50.99. This $25 mail-in rebate cuts it to $25.99. With free shipping,
