I Cant get onto the internet on my laptop....
Hi
Not connected to any networks.... Im currently having the same problems as the guy above on my laptop, im using my home computer atm. I have windows vista i also tried to renew and release my ip address and this didnt work i followed the instructions above and got the same results as Sam, i have no ? or ! beside my devices and i dont have any X's my network adapters listed are broadcom 590x 10/100 ethernet and intel(R) wireless wifi link 4965agn, when i plug my laptop to my modem that device also comes up i tried to ping my address and it failed so i went to this thread: Problem with file sharing. Have tried everything. One computer still giving trouble i went to services # COM+ Event System (for WZC issues) - fine # Computer Browser - fine # DHCP Client - fine # DNS Client - fine # Network Connections - i changed to automatic # Network Location Awareness - fine # Remote Procedure Call (RPC) - i had to start it # Server - had to start it # TCP/IP Netbios helper - fine # Wireless Zero Configuration (XP wireless configurations) - not there # WLAN AutoConfig (Vista wireless configurations) - fine # Workstation - fine |

COnnect with a wired connection directly to the router and do this.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt: In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command: Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command. IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
