OK.I am trying to change my external Ip adress.(99.12.34.34...........) not the internal one( not 192.168.............)
I tried changing my Mac adress in my compuer.I cn easily change my Mac adress.BUt my Ip doesnt change.How do i change my Ip and Mac adress at the same time without reconnectng the modem?I thought the Mac and Ip adress were linked to each other.BUt when i change MY Mac i alos want My Ip to change.Plz help and tell me an easy way to change My Mac and Ip adress.I use a microsoft windows xp professional sevice pack 2. |

The ISP determines that IP address, you can't change it.
Why do you feel the need to change your IP address?

mac addresses are not seen on the internet, so changing it will do nothing.
like john said .. your isp controls your ip address, ask them for a static ip if they say yes, then they will give you one to put in. |

Typically, for cable modems, the MAC address they use is the MAC address of the DOCSIS modem. Very few companies key on the machine's MAC address nowadays.
