I have two Linux servers (S1, S2) each with two interfaces (eth0, eth1). Both Linux Servers are configured to work as routers.
Linux Server S1 Details eth0 is connected to LAN switch. IP Address Binded to eth0 is 192.168.100.22 eth1 is connected to Internet Router. Linux Server S2 Details eth0 is connected to LAN switch. IP Address Binded to eth0 is 192.168.100.44 eth1 is connected to Internet Router. I started vrrpd daemon on S1 & S2 using the following command- On Server S1: vrrpd -i eth0 -v 1 -p 255 192.168.100.22 ( MASTER) On Server S2: vrrpd -i eth0 -v 1 -p 200 192.168.100.22 (Backup) This way 192.168.100.22 became the Virtual IP of Virtual Router with VRID = 1. I was also able to capture the VRRP announcement messages from 192.168.100.22 only. I then unplugged the network cable of S1 eth0 interface from LAN switch. I started getting advertisement from Backup VRRP router S2 (192.168.100.44). The problem is , When I connected back the network cable of S1 eth0 to LAN switch. Master became active again But My host was getting announcements both from 192.168.100.22 and 192.168.100.44. Rather I should get messages announcement only from 192.168.100.22. Please help me out. This is really urgent. Thanks Last edited by kamalkgarg; 01-31-2009 at 08:30 AM. |
