2 NICs on SAME network with TRAFFIC selection
Hi, I need to configure a 2nd NIC on a win 2k3 server just for establish a separate Internet connection; this is the situation:
1st NIC 10.1.8.2/255.255.0.0 is networked with 10.1.0.0 locally and with 3 remote networks (10.3.0.0 10.5.0.0 10.6.0.0) via a Cisco router addressed @ 10.1.8.254 2nd NIC 10.1.8.1/255.255.0.0 is linked with another router addressed @ 10.1.8.10 just for Internet connection So I set the 2nd router (10.1.8.10) as default gateway (4 all Internet traffic) and I created 3 static routes on 1st NIC for my 3 remote networks - but then my local network 10.1.0.0 get unreachable; can anybody tell me why? I CANNOT change my network mask and any of my IP addresses and I know as well it must work 'cause I've already used this configuration on a linux server working with no problem. Any suggestion? I'd like to know how to say to Windows that NIC 2 is for Internet traffic (via router 10.1.8.10) only and NIC 1 is for remote and also local (10.1.0.0) networks!!! Thx! |
