Static IP's and internal IP's
I am stuck with something that I think is probably very simple.
I have a range of static IP address, for use on a webserver, ftp server etc. I have set up a router that works fine for this side of it. However, I am wanting to assign one of the static IP's to a second router which I want to use for the other PC's/MAC's in the building to use to gain access to the internet. All of these have fixed IP's (in the range 192.168.0.???). I've provided the second router with the static ip (in the range 84.12.45.???, with a subnet mask 255.255.255.248, which works for the other machines). Setting the LAN IP to 192.168.0.1 (SN 255.255.255.0) nothing seems to be getting out of the building through the second router, although the sever (as an example) will happily connect to the internet, and is accessible. Any thoughs. Dec |
