Cry Netgear Router Issues

Hi, I'm new to this forum, so hello to everyone, hoping you can help. I am with Virgin Media (joined when it ws NTL) Cable for my nroadband, and have an NTL Modem.

I had an MSI RG54G2 Router connected via ethernet cable to the modem and everything was a-ok.

Replaced the MSI router with a NETGEAR WGT624 router and now cannot access the internet, even if I cable from the modem to the router and then cable the router to my PC. Using Windows XP on a basic Dual Core PC, nothing fancy.

Any thoughts?

Can you access the Internet connected directly to the NTL modem? If so, let's see this when you're connected.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

What is the make/model of the modem? Can you connect directly to the modem with a computer and access the Internet?

Hi, I believe that it's a standard NTL Modem provided when they installed the line. Do you need any more detail. Yes, if I cable directly to the modem I can access the internet, and if I use my old router I can access via wireless.

Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on.
  • Turn off everything, the modem, router, computer.
  • Connect the modem to the router's WAN/Internet port.
  • Connect the computer to one of the router's LAN/Network ports.
  • Turn on the modem, wait for a steady connect light.
  • Turn on the router, wait for two minutes.
  • Boot the computer.

When the computer is completely booted, let's see this.
