I'm having the same problem of not being able to renew IP address. Please help. I've tried the netsh cmd as suggested by Johnwill, but to no avail. The error message reads like this: "An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless network Connection: unable to contact your HDCP Server. Request has time out. No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected."
My ISP is Comcast, with a Motorola SB5101 Surfboard Cable modem and a Netgear wireless router model#MR814. Please help. Anyone? Thanks in advance. |

Re: I can't renew my IP Address!
Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.
I've created a new thread for your issue here. Note: You will need to post complete details of your configuration and your specific issue in this new thread for us to help you. Thanks for your cooperation.

Re: I can't renew my IP Address!
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:
In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command: Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command. IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: I can't renew my IP Address!
Hi Johnwill, thanks for your prompt reply and creating a new thread for my question. I was clueless as I posted my question under an existing thread. My bad. Fortunately, I figured out how to renew the IP address and made the damn thing worked. However, I do have a couple of questions for you. What is the netsh cmd for? eg, "netsh int ip reset reset.log and netsh winsock reset catalog." and what do you mean by "Stack"?
Your kind attention will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your help. |
