Question Protocol for data acquisition system and Application software

Hi every one , I looked in so many places for help in this topic but din't find any. I am working on a GUI software for a Data Acquisition System .I have to basically communicate with a embedded system i will be using USB for communication btw the GUI and the DAQ, I will be selecting a few channels on the GUI and i will be getting data for those particular channels from the embedded system. But i really don know how to implement the protocol in (C++) :S .My first attempt in building a protocol.Tried to look for some example on the forum but din find any. How should i implement the protocol into C++ code.
This is the Frame Format i have to implement, Can any one pls guide me to an example or tell me how to do this.

----------------------------------------------------------
|Command ID/ Length --- Service ID --- Data --- Check Sum|
----------------------------------------------------------

I am working on a software called Qt i have integrated it with VS2005.net, Its basically C++.

Thank You

Re: Protocol for data acquisition system and Application software

This isn't really a development forum, so I suspect not many people are going to feel qualified to answer your question. I'd be looking at places like one of the following two. I've used both of these myself, and there is lots of information at either site.
