Media State.........Media Disconnected

I recently disconnected a Netgear WG111v2 wireless USB adaptor from my laptop (worked fine) and transfered it to my sons computer, which had a limited connection. After fiddling around with it and installing network magic it worked.

I bought a new Netgear WG111v3 Wireless USB Adaptor which i intended to replace the one on my sons. However he connected the new adaptor and installed the software to the laptop.

The modem is a Netgear DG834G modem/router.

I have tried to connect the laptop many times and although the system detects the wireless connection it will not connect. The router has WEP security enabled and i have transfered the key and even dissabled the secuirty to no avail.

Renewing the ip hasnt worked nor has "release".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
