Another "can't connect to internet" request for help
Hi,
I see that many people are having the same problem I'm having and I have read your answers to them. I have tried several of the suggestions but still can't get my problem solved. I'm trying to set up a network with 3 computers (2 desktops and a laptop). I have a Netgear dg834g router and have it connected to the main desktop via an ethernet cable. The other PCs are connected wirelessly. All computers show they are on the same network and that there is an internet connection but none can actually connect to the internet. I get the standard, "IE cannot display this page" that most people have reported. Here's information you've asked for in other posts, hoping I've left nothing out. If you're using a wireless connection, have you tried a direct connection with a cable to see if that changes the symptoms? If there are other computers on the same network, are they experiencing the same issue, or do they function normally? |

Re: Another "can't connect to internet" request for help
The above I did using my normal modem connection. I used the same thing below when connected by ethernet to the Netgear router. Don't know if this is useful or not.

Re: Another "can't connect to internet" request for help
Other than using the wrong IP address in one of the tests, the direct connection to the modem appears to work. The correct command would be: PING 216.109.112.135.
However, since pinging yahoo.com worked, that other one would obviously work. With the modem direct connection, are you saying you still can't access the Internet?
