Router or NIC Problem?
The Story:
NOTE: I have tried diffrent cables, I am currently using the yellow cable it comes with which worked fine over my friends house. I also do not have any wireless adaptors at the moment till my next pay check Specs: If you have any question feel free to ask I will respond as quickly as possible! |

An IP address of 169.254.x.x is an APIPA address. In a nutshell this basically means your computer was unable to get a proper IP address from your router, so it gave itself one.
When you access your router's web configuration, make sure DHCP is enabled. |
