Angry Speed

This is my first post! I hope I do this right. My laptop is so slow! I don't know if it's my Ram it only has 256 or its my router.I have DSL and when
I bought my router the guy at the store said this one was what I needed!
it'a a Linksys and its just 54mps as were my desktop is 100mps.So I am wondering what is the best solution for me!The model # on my router is
WRT54G.
Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

There's no really useful information in the post. What makes you think the laptop is at fault? How are you measuring speed?

How about doing an Internet speed test on each of the computers and posting the results here?

A couple of popular Internet speed test sites in the US.

desktop
download speed 335 kb/s upload 132 kb/s 166ms
Laptop
download speed 166 kb/s upload 122kb/s 291 ms
I am not sure what all this means but I know you do
so anything you can tell me I would greatly appreciate

There is no such thing as a 100mbps DSL connection! That's your local network speed, not your Internet connection speed. DSL will be at LEAST an order of magnitude slower than that, and that would be a VERY FAST DSL connection.

Typically DSL starts at around 384kbits, and works it's way up to as much as 6mbits, depending on your level of service.
