wireless connection
Hi there!
This is my first posting ever so excuse if I overlook protocol. The problem we have here at work is one of our wireless PC's [win xp with sp2] does not connect to internet after I reinstalled win xp two weeks ago. The icon at bottom right of screen says I has limited or no connectivity though signal strength to DLINK router/modem is excellent. When I click on the icon and bring up wireless network connection status it says "This problem occured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer". The wireless pc next to it [they use ASUS] works fine. A wireless laptop works fine. Another PC next to DLINK router which is wired to it works fine. I have tried everything that I know! What next? |

Re: wireless connection
Does it connect if you use a wired connection?
Top suspect here would be mis-matched encryption keys. Have you disabled encryption on the router to see if that allows it to connect?

Re: wireless connection
The exact make/model of the router would be useful here. You configure the encryption in the wireless configuration section of the router using the web based setup. The instructions should be in the manual for the router.
