I have (2) Mobile devices using Ad hoc connection and typed in the ip address 192168125102 for the first unit and 103 for the second with the subnet mask of 255255255128 for both. Now the units connected with no problem using an ip 1.1.1.1 and the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and were able to ping each other but when i changed and entered the 192 ip and with the subnet mask 255.255.255.128 The units were not able to ping one another. Is this an issue that the units cannot function on a class C subnet

Re: Ad hoc 2 Mobile device with a subnet mask .128 will not connect
A class-C network has a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Use that and I think you'll be fine.

Re: Ad hoc 2 Mobile device with a subnet mask .128 will not connect
I know it will work that way as well but what is the reason it does not work with that subnet mask. Is that even a valid subnet mask because this is part of a network setup and it is instructing to set up the Mobile devices with that subnet mask

All the subnet masks have to match for one thing. Why are you trying to use that subnet mask anyway?
