Re: Saving IP information for multiple networks
johnwill:
I have looked at using the alternate network configuration as described at the lockergnome site. Unfortunately, this tab/option only becomes available if you select "Obtain an IP address automatically" as your primary configuration... So in my case, where I use a static IP with port forwarding at home, I must make this the alternate (secondary) configuration. I am able to connect to my home network under the primary (automatic) configuration, so my alternate settings are never used... at home or at school - where I MUST use automatically assigned IP. To sum up, I need the user-specified IP and DNS to be attempted first and if it fails (when at school) to obtain an IP address automatically. Any ideas? Thad - canihave@hotmail.com |

Re: Saving IP information for multiple networks
Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.
I've created a new thread for your issue here. Note: You will need to post complete details of your configuration and your specific issue in this new thread for us to help you. Thanks for your cooperation.

Re: Saving IP information for multiple networks
Many routers will lock an IP address to a MAC address with the DHCP server. If you have one of these, you can have a fixed IP address and still use automatic IP addressing.
