Getting the same IP for computer + 360

I have a DLS-2540B D-link router and it keeps giving my computer and xbox 360 the same IP (192.168.1.2). How can I make the router give it different ips?

Re: Getting the same IP for computer + 360

First off, do this.

Turn off everything, router, XBOX, and the computer.

Turn on the router, wait two minutes.

Turn on the computer, boot and insure it's working.

Turn on the XBOX.

See if it's cured.

If not, let's see this for the computer.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: Getting the same IP for computer + 360

You have DHCP disabled, which is probably why you're getting the problem. In addition, you have blanked out the IP address that we need to see. Finally, you have specified WINS servers, which I'd be real surprised if you have!

Try enabling DHCP on all the devices, and they'll stop stepping on each other.

Re: Getting the same IP for computer + 360

Did you follow the reset procedure I posted after enabling DHCP? Do you still have the duplicate IP address issue?
